Global vaccine access is essential for a global, just recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, but the countries least able to afford the vaccine are the last to access it. Meanwhile, the ten most wealthy countries in the world have bought up three-quarters of available vaccine doses.
Both the U.S. Catholic Bishops and Pope Francis have called for universal access to the vaccine around the world.
